I will dominate 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally known for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Size Disparity

As both boxers engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
